Fuel, air, and oil on a UAE genset (the sequence)
Treat the three loops as one system. Fuel side first (day tank, primary water separator, secondary fine filter). Air side second (pre-cleaner if fitted, primary, safety element, restriction gauge). Oil side third (full-flow, bypass where fitted, sample port).
Skip air and the engine runs rich. Soot loads the lube. The cheap oil filter is what you notice, but the turbo already ate dust. Cummins Service Bulletin SB-14-2019 tells Middle East operators to run 250-hour lube and fuel intervals, not the 500-hour Europe figure. Build the CMMS around that.

Hospital and data-centre standby: water in fuel
Ambient in Dubai and Abu Dhabi routinely crosses 45°C in July and August (National Center of Meteorology, 2025). A belly tank or day tank that sits half-full overnight condenses water. The primary bowl and the fuel-water separator are supposed to catch it before the secondary and the injectors.
That is why 1R-0770 class separators and Fleetguard FS1000-class primaries move as fast as the secondary fuel filters out of Aweer. Change immediately on a water-in-fuel alarm. Do not wait for hours.
